How do I get my parents to let me change my look?

I am 16. My parents still treat me like a baby. I understand that tattoos are a no so I don't bug them about it. I really want piercings and to wear my makeup the way I want too. I like the scene/emo look. No I am not emo so please don't be rude. I just like their eye makeup, and really poof hair. I am slowly getting the hairstyle I want. The problem is, they wont let me dye my hair or let me get piercings. I want my lip pierced and nose pierced and cartilage pierced. They will only let me get the normal ear piercing. I find that totally unfair. I can't get my own hair style, and piercings. It's not like its their body. It shouldn't matter what piercings I have, or what color my hair is, or how much make up I wear as long as I like it, Right?
