'05 Ford Freestyle - lowlights not working?

The low lights on my 2005 Ford Freestyle are not working. The bulbs are not burnt out, and all of the fuses seem to be fine. I was told it might be the "multifunction switch", but I'm having trouble locating a switch that looks like the one we have (there seem to be several different types). If anyone has some idea of where to find this type of switch (circular knob that mounts on the dash- not a handle on the steering column) and what it might cost, I would appreciate your input.

yea I wonder why some people answer too, It depends on what state you live in. Here in oregon they are legal and they are sold in auto parts stores. But these are the cheap ones that are no good. the good ones are usually at a place that sells adaptive equipment for adaptive vehilces you can probably buy some good ones off the internet after doing some research. Some states have banned them because if the knob is in a bad position in an accident your body can hit it wrong and it pretty much kills you dead. I try to avoid accidents like that, and have had these suicide knobs for many years and never had any trouble from law enforcement.

My guitar amp won't work!?

A/C/Heater problem with 2002 chevy impala?

The AC/Heater on my impala is acting up, when I turn the knob to 1,2,3,4 or 5 no air comes out except the cruise control light turns on. You can hear the air pressure come up through the air hose behind the heater panel, but no air. Sometimes in the mornings the AC or the heater kicks on but just on selection 5. Also, the cruise control is in-op, the cruise control light blinks on and off at times. Please help.

I can't put a strap on my acoustic guitar, what's with it?

depends on how its wired. If its hooked up correctly the amp will come on when the deck does. Your buddies probably turned the bass down or the subwoofer. Strap hook for guitar broken?

The little circle knob on my guitar where you hook the strap on is broken. It seems to me like the hole where the screw goes in isn't working right because the screw seems fine. Depends entirely on what you are seeking. Do you want romance or urban fantasy. Do you prefer shifters, demons or vampires. Have you read any sample chapters to see which would you prefer to start with. I am partial to the BDB, but that is because I prefer romance, and the first 4 books I enjoyed the best, as well as Lover Avenged. The series is more romance though it has strong urban fantasy elements, and it does need to be read in order once you are past book 4. Does my mom have Narcissistic Personality Disorder?

My mom is 78 yrs old and ever since I can remember I've never done anything write. I'm 26 years old now. For example I woke up this morning with a smile to say good morning to my mother and the first thing that comes out of her mouth is "Where is the door knob protector in your bathroom the hole is getting bigger?" It wasn't a nice question, it was very cold. The "hole" is an indentation of the little lock that has been there since I've been a teenager, after I explain to her the stickyness came off so I threw it away she goes to telling me I don't respect my fathers house because I left a plate on the counter in the kitchen. This is just a tip of the ice burg. EVERYTHING needs to be done my mothers way or its not done the right way and she needs to show you the right way of doing things and when you explain okay well that's not the way I do it I have my own way You get scolded. SHE DOES NOT ACT LIKE THIS WITH OTHER PEOPLE. For the whole 30 yrs she was with my father (whom passed away a little over a yr ago) she bitched and complained about everything to him. When she's mad she slams doors, cabinets etc. She has a tendency to make you feel bad because your not doing things her way, or the right way. She gets angry VERY fast. She yells ALL the time. I pay rent in the house my Dad left me and I still get yelled at for the way I keep my room or bathroom. I find myself always trying to please her and its a never ending battle because you can't please her. She has a new bf of 3-4 months and is sweet as pie to him. When I asked why she's not like that with him her response" I don't live with him". WTF?! I remember when I was 7, (i have this on tape too) She was cutting cake and I asked her is this piece of great grandma and I had to ask again since I had gotten no answer and she yelled at me "WHAT DO YOU THINK?!". I watched this video the other day and the look on my face was heart breaking......ALSO if she does something wrong she'll say she didn't do it when I know darn well she did because no one else could have if I didnt!!! Of course I'll get yelled at for calling her out on it. I don't know wtf to do anymore. I left home because of her negativity and her anger and I ran fast. But due to circumstances I'm back and I don't feel comfrotable in my own home THAT I OWN. Of course this was Moms house while Dad was here and it still is moms house but I think she should let up on me a little bit. What to do when landlords are harassing & leaving threatning messages?

We submitted out 30 day notice on the 11th of this month. We have always had a great relationship renting from them our landlords for nearly 2 years. They gave our new landlords a great reference and claimed they would rent to us again anytime. (The old landlords are private homeowners). We have paid rent at the old house until 7/1/11. He told us he would be showing the house to a couple of interested tenants the next evening. We let him know that we are still in the middle of moving so it is pretty messy (still have some of our things in there) and haven't gotten a chance to make the necessary repairs & clean since we had until the 1st of July. He understood and told us it was no problem. The next day he left us a voicemail saying he was going to "hang us and our daddies". In the voicemail he also stated that we "destroyed his brand new house." (Built a little over 7 years ago). The repairs we told him we needed to make consist of the following: 3 Cracked light plate covers, 3 holes in the walls (one caused by a door knob without a stopper), 1 drawer COVER in the kitchen that fell off due to the screws coming lose (the sliding system is still fully intact), shampooing the carpet and touching up the paint. I got a call from our new landlords today saying that they received a call from our previous landlord who had initially given us a great reference. He told them that we destroyed his house and trashed it and he would be suing us from anywhere between $5,000-$10,000 to cover the damage done. Because we still have the house until the 1st of July, can he threaten us without allowing us to make the necessary repairs/clean per our rental agreement? Is he allowed to call our current landlord and tell her what's going on? I'm lost right now and don't know what to do. I've walked through the house and taken pictures of everything.

Well I personally really liked reading Raised by Wolves-Jennifer Barnes. Yes it has to do with werewolves just like Twilight, but they don't have much else in common at all. How to use Delta Monitor Shower faucet?

I just moved into my new apartment and am wanting to take a shower but I don't know how to get the water flow to come out of the shower head. The shower is a Delta Monitor shower. The handle to adjust the hot and cold water doesnt seem to move up or down, or push in or out. There isn't a knob on the faucet itself to pull up to creat the shower head water flow. There is a knob at the bottom of the tub to stop the drainage to create a bath. But that seems to be it. Please someone help me?!?! Thanks!

Hairstyles for wavy, hard-to-manage hair?

My hair is exactly the same way and I used to have the same problem. I find the longer my hair gets, the more the problems goes away. When you get your hair cut, ask for long layers and for them to thin your hair out. I used herbal essences shampoos and conditioners. Since you shouldn't wash your hair everyday because it needs the natural oils to keep it healthy, I use head and shoulders for frizzy hair on my in between days, but only a little bit. Also frizz ease by john freida works really good. Put a dime size glop in after you shower, when your hair is still wet. Hope I helped!

Can I repair my shower valve without tearing into the wall?

I have a shower valve where a lever adjusts the temperature and in front of it it a control knob that turns the shower on and off. The center metal portion got stripped and we've been using vise grips to turn it on and off. Replacing the knob won't work; it's too stripped now. Question is, can I somehow take it apart and replace what needs to be replaced in the valve itself without tearing into the wall and installing a new valve? Thanks!

Sarah Dessen is really good for teen romance type books. My favorites are Just Listen, The Truth About Forever, and This Lullaby. I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore is a really good book as well. More of a sci fi/ fantasy/ some romance. The Host by Stephenie Meyer is a good sci fi/ romance novel (trust me I was hesitant because it was written by her but it's really good.) How is closing a toddler's bedroom door at night wrong?

There is nothing wrong with it. I am sure that their room is safe and I have yet to see a door that is sound proof from a childs cries. I honestly think it is safer then letting them wonder the house or even sneak out when you are busy doing something else. It is nearly impossible to watch a child every second of the day and this could help keep them contained in their own little safe area while you sleep at night or cook a meal or do a chore. I have 4 kids and they are all in bed at night, in their own beds, lights off, door shut and they are all safe, happy and healthy. Do whats right for your house, if you arent putting your children in harm, it is noone elses business! Good luck!

Floyd Rose Tuning Problems ?

I went to tune my guitar into drop D but I couldn't because the knobs had reached their adjustment limit. So I retuned it from the top so they could reach the proper notes but then the A through High E strings would only tune about half way. I didn't do anything to those 5 strings that I didn't do to the Low E string so I'm really confused. Also the 5 strings will tune higher w/o any problems so Ik its prob not a problem w/ the screw itself. I'm really confused & have no clue on what this could be? I'm going to take it to a guitar shop soon but I would like to know if this is something I can fix myself before I put out the money. Thank you so much !! :)

If not, does anyone know what problem I may have? Ok well I have this weird hatred towards bathrooms. I have certain things I do when it comes to them. I can't. Remember when it started, but for years I have had strange doings. I ALWAYS have to have to bathroom door closed. That is non-negotionable. I won't talk if the door is open. I don't talk in bathrooms, nor open my mouth / breath through my mouth. I won't touch the knobs on the faucet nor the door. When I take a shower I HAVE to wear shoes. I will not step on the floor. Also I won't sit on the toilet. Only times I do, I have to put toilet paper on the seat, even at home. Ill keep it super clean and these rules still apply. I've done these things for probably 10+ years and ill be starting college this fall, I don't want this to stop me from being "normal" in college. My friends don't think of it too much they just know that I like the restroom door closed and when they ask why I have to make up a lie. I'm really serious, any help will be greatly appreciated. My GE Electric stove is hot everywhere.?

I have a 10 year old GE electric range (coil type). When I turn the burner on, the entire stove gets hot, meaning, if I accidentally touch the front edge or any other part of the stove, I could get scorched. The only part that does not get hot is where the control knobs are (at the back). This happens even when the over is on and the burner is not. I have a kid and am always worried when he gets closer to the stove while cooking. What could be wrong?

Why does turning on the light of my ceiling fan/light fixture trip my circuit breaker?

I had a Harbor Breeze ceiling fan in the kitchen, lights and fan worked fine. One day, the fan stopped working. I attempted repairs with no luck, so I bought a new fan. Admittedly, I purchased almost solely on price- needed something cheap in a hurry. I got another Harbor Breeze fan, but the cheapest 52" they sell (Armitage - Builder's Series). I installed it exactly the same as the previous was installed with black (fan) and blue (light) to the hot wire and white to the neutral. The fan works fine but when I pull the chain to turn on the light it trips the breaker. Electric is old in my house (most is knob and tube), but I've never had any other limitations with it. Why would using both light and fan on this new unit trip the breaker when it didn't using both light and fan on the old unit?

I can't put a strap on my acoustic guitar, what's with it?

Every guitar has two nuts/knobs/things to hook a strap onto, right? Well, for some reason my acoustic guitar only has one. My parents got it for me from a pawn shop as a gift, so I can't really talk to the people that last had it or anything. Are some guitars just built this way for some reason? Okay so im 13 and my face looks boyish but I wear concealer and foundation..My face is a roundish shaped..I have long dark brown hair,Layers,and a side bang/Fringe...Whenever I straighten my hair it gets poofy during the day or I look like a guy..Ive tried alot of Anti frizz leave in conditioners and stuff..I have really bushy eyebrows and glasses.. I am only seventeen but I have a cousin who can act like your daughter sometimes and it is hard to take care of her sometimes. What I do to my cousin is I talk to her in a stern voice and make eye contact. The eye contact is the key it shows authority don't force her to look at you just say her name until she looks at you even if it takes about a hundred times before she does. I am one of the only one my cousin listens to and I never lay a hand on her, yell at her, etc. Don't spank your child because physical abuse like that doesn't help much you just have to have patience. Also when she goes into a tantrum just put her in her room and ignore her until she calms down then talk to her. I hope this helps!

Is a 95 firebird 5.0 police inceptor a good buy?

We just bought a 95 firebird 5.0 yes 5.0 and it also says police inceptor on the side. It is an incredibly fast car. Runs great as well with really the only problem being a motor on the front driver light that brings it up being a little off so sometimes you have to manually turn the knob to reset the motor. It's red with a white stripe down the middle. So my question again is, is it a good buy? How much is this really even worth?

My car keeps getting vandalized and lately they've smeared crap?

sh!t on my apartment door knob. wtf! Someone grabbed a fire extinguisher from the back of my truck and smashed my other cars window with it. has anyone else had something like this happen to them. and what did you do? i already called the cops ,they came after an hour and the police station is straight down the block. they gave me an incident number told me i should probably stop pissing people off hahaha. ( man i wanted to punch that cop and erase his little smirk ) and told me that "they'll look into it" . i call bs. I dont talk to anyone there except my neighbor whose son smokes weed every f*cking day and caughs like a mother*cker outside of my bedroom window. this little f*ker hangs out with cholos who sit infront of a house across the street who talk about how exciting their thug lives are. they're pathetic they dont even have jobs and apparently live of their poor mom who picks up recycling material of trash bins. and they're grown a** men . that kid (18 yrs) old is the only one who knows what cars i drive and where i live because the cholos dont even live in the same place. I have dirt bikes, rock climbing gear and a couple of downhill bikes that they've seen me load into my truck. I think they're just hating beacuse i have this kind of stuff and they don't. I work very hard to have this things. I can barely make end meet and i have this happen to me. now im afraid they'll break in to the garage and mess with my stuff. Im very pissed off because i don't mess with anyone for this very same reason. On top of that my doctor told me that i have cancer. just like my dad and one of my best friends died recently. How do I get my parents to let me change my look?

I am 16. My parents still treat me like a baby. I understand that tattoos are a no so I don't bug them about it. I really want piercings and to wear my makeup the way I want too. I like the scene/emo look. No I am not emo so please don't be rude. I just like their eye makeup, and really poof hair. I am slowly getting the hairstyle I want. The problem is, they wont let me dye my hair or let me get piercings. I want my lip pierced and nose pierced and cartilage pierced. They will only let me get the normal ear piercing. When I was a boy from about age 3 to 8.I was frightened of my bedpost knob because it looked like it had a cycloptic eye reflected from my nightlight.I used to have nightmares that it would float off its bedpost and terrorize me with a deep scary voice.It seemed real and not a nightmare.I dont know if it might have been a sleep paralysis hallucination or just a vivid nightmare.It was recurring though.It stopped for the most part at about age 11.

So I'm thirteen and I've been noticing that I'll put something somewhere and later I'll find it in a different place or I can't find it at all. Injured thumb pain relief?

Yesterday my thumb got stuck at a door knob space, and it pulled away some skin. I was bleeding much, and I was able to control it after applying pressure and some anti-hemorrhagic (stop bleeding) powder. Now I am just using some antibiotic cream to cover the wound. I have a lot of pain in my thumb, affecting also the rest of my hand. Is this normal? What are some home remedies for pain relief? Can I use ice to soothe my finger?

I hit my elbow really hard...should I be concerned?

So yesterday early evening I was taking down the big umbrellas on the veranda at work. They are really top heavy, so my usual method of folding them down is pulling the key out and ducking really fast to avoid being whacked in the face. In the midst of doing this, I rammed my elbow on the top side of a chair, right at that soft spot between the bones. I guess this is what they call your funny bone? It hurt SO much I got really dizzy and was laughing and crying at the same time. Afterwards, and since then, I have numbness in my forearm and hand when my arm was relaxed or extended, and when it is bent or I am pushing, pulling, or twisting something (like a mop or door knob), it hurts so much that my whole body trembles from trying to control and endure the pain. The elbow itself has a nice ugly blue and purple bruise where I initially hit it, and then right next to it is a bit puffy and tender, and sort of pinkish in color. I've been taking advil to sort of dull the pain, put ice on the spot to reduce swelling, rubbed icy-hot to relieve the internal pain...and it's not doing much. Sometimes, especially at work, when I have to carry something heavy or use my arm in a motion where I have to just bite my lip and endure the pain, afterwards I feel really tired and a little dizzy. Just typing this question has been a struggle. If it's nothing to be completely concerned about, or if there are better self-healing methods I can try, please let me know. I would rather NOT waste the 150$ to see a doctor for 15 minutes for him to tell me I'm fine.

Self cleaning on GE Spectra DIAL KNOBS?

I am at wits end. I have cleaned oven and when I try to use it the clean light blinks and nothing heats to cook. So today I put the oven on clean again at 8 am, light burning steady. Then at 1pm the CLEAN and OVEN ON lights were blinking. I thought that maybe it was on the cool down stage. I then left it alone. 2 1/2 hours later they are still blinking. I get on google and read the manuals. There is nothing in there referring to any of this. One said to turn oven to off and open door. I did this and now when I turn oven on, it still shows only the clean light blinking. Can someone help me? I have not been able to use my oven for cooking for over 2 weeks. I have unplugged, let sit over night and it still changes nothing.

Why won't my parents let me make my own mistakes?

Okay, I'm starting to act more like a teen and my parents won't let me do what I want I understand some things they won't let me do (Like get my nose pierced although i am getting my eyebrow pierced soon) but when my mom says "Pick out a hairstyle you want" (and I was and still am into old music like Cher, Greatfull Dead(which both my parents liked when they where my age), And alot more so I told her I wanted a Style from like the 80's and her my grandmother and aunt all didn't like it so my mom wouldn't let me get it ( I understand that my mother just didn't want me to be made fun of) so I got my hair cut a different way, then she wouldn't let me get it cut the way I wanted to again so I've been letting my hair grow out and me and her are getting it cut for my birthday she tells me the same thing and I told her I want a faux mohawk which my mother and father said no too because my father well he just won't let me do anything I want to untill my mother ask why then he says he doesn't care I think he just says what he thinks my mom is going to say and my mom won't let me get it because " I got my hair cut short like that and regretted it" my Great grandmother who won't let me out of her sight when we go to town said "she (my mom) did what ever she wanted to when she was your age" she also says she just learned to let kids do what they want to or they will do it behind your back, and she is right most kids that I know would but I don't because I want them to trust me and I just don't know how to convince them to let ME make MY own mistakes they always say they did it and regretted it so I can't do it. I have told them I'm never going to drink alcohol, smoke, or get a tattoo (maybe a few piercings) but I said I'm going to collage even though I want to be a actress/director I'm going for my fall back job but that will come up in another question. Im just curious.Does it actually affect the performance of the engine? Does the idle knob have to be set in the correct position for the engine to perform correctly? I have a '72 blonde telecaster and the original screws are still on but are rusted to pieces on the scratchplate and i was just wondering if it would lower its value. I was also considering replacing the tone and volume knob as the chrome has worn off, the same question applies. A/C fan motor won't blow in 2 positions?

'03 F150. The fan motor suddenly stopped blowing in the Low and Medium Low position. It blows in the Medium High and High position. What could be the problem and how would I go about diagnosing and fixing it? I don't think it's the switch in the cab, since it was operating on Medium Low when it stopped working. I turned the knob to the next higher position and it started blowing.

16 year old males hair thinning?

Hey, Im a 16 year old male and last november after getting a hair cut i noticed my hair was really thin on top. I had fairly long hair so i guess i never noticed until i got it cut. But it seems weird that it happened so suddenly since i started growing my hair out. I did wear a hat almost every day all day (for my job) for a couple years and i know that is the reason, but i figured it was something i would notice years down the road. I don't really have any history of baldness in my family, My dad is, but hes 69, My great grandfather died at like 90 with a full head of hair and my grandfather was a little younger but had a full head of hair. So im not really sure what im asking, but i mean im 16, and having thin hair is a pretty big thing at my age. Guess its just really been bugging me, its depressing . I know there's no "magical" way to just make my hair thicker, But i was hoping maybe someone knows some hair products that work good.. Argus c3 shutter speeds not accurate?

I bought a vintage Argus c3 recently. It looks like it was hardly used. The problem I have is with the rangefinder wheel and the shutter speed knob. Both of them are hard to turn. The shutter speed dial will not turn pass 25. Also, it seems that no matter what speed i put it on, the speed is still the same. Is there a way to fix the speed dial?

Serger: constantly rethreading the bottom looper!?

I am very very new to serging, I have a used Kenmore and everything was going great. Then my 2 year old daughter got her hands on it while I was at work, pulled off the tension knobs and broke some of the thread. I rethreaded the whole machine, I've replaced the knobs and tinkered with the tension so the stitches come out beautiful again. My problem is that I sew a seam, stop, cut the thread, then when I go to sew the second seam, the last part of the bottom looper is unthreaded again!! Help me please!!!!!!!!!!

Low/no water pressure after replacing stem valve in shower?

Several months ago the hot water stem in our shower broke and we could not shut the water off. The shower has separate hot and cold knobs. Only the hot went out so we only replaced the hot. Since then we have no water pressure. There is no change in pressure when you turn the knobs and the water seems to just trickle out. It does the same with the cold water side. Regardless if one or both is turned on just a little or completely open the pressure is the same. We have checked the main shut off to make sure it is completely open and we have checked the shower head for any clogs. The valve itself also appears to have no clogs.

I am very young, but i have been exposed to a lot of stomach viruses. But i do not think you normally get stomach viruses by having a friend visit for a while. Raw foods, and extreme exposure to someone sick with it could cause it. And plus she RECOVERED from one, which only lowers your percentages, along with your amazing cleaning. Question about Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead?

I hope she gives Adrian a happy ending. He deserves it. Also, I don't really understand how Rose can be happy at the end. Sure, she has Dimitri but she practically ruined Lissa, Sydney, Adrian, Jailbait, and Christian's lives and views on life. She lost her bond with Lissa who is now rather going to spiral into depression and madness or never use her powers again. How is this a happy ending? I still love the series though.

How to tune my bass guitar?!?

So I definitely understand how to physically tune it, obviously, but I have one problem; the way to turn it.. For example, if I go to tune a string to E but the chromatic tuner is telling me F, I don't understand which way I need to turn the tuning knobs. Thats the only issue, really just the order of the notes, so I know how to get from one note to the next, is there a chart anywhere that I can memorize?!

Guys. its so irritating why a difference of 1 year is so much. My 13 year old brother (3 more days to his birthday) is so dam freaking retarded. ok so i was locked out of my house so i went inside through the basement unlucklly i found that the basemnet door was locked, the doorknob had a little hole which i insterted a nail into, i hit the nail with a hammer and wa la the door opened now the door wont lock again, i can turn the knob normaly but the locking mechanism only works if the knob is turned

Recently I have been shifted to a hostel and my room has a round knob door lock. It has a keyhole on the exterior and a push button on the interior part of the lock. For locking from inside, I just push the button present at centre of the knob. But I dont know how to lock it from outside. I inserted the key to the keyhole and turned it 90 degree either to left or right but it doesn't work. Help.

I'm trying to think of the name or find a picture of an old sports game I used to play. It was an upright game that featured a baseball player or football player who could be moved with the turn of a silver knob to the left or right. I was under the impression the images would be used for her portfolio, and personal advertising, but recently I received an e-mail from her with a "Non-Exclusive Photography License" She was asking me to sign the form and mail it back to her, as she is interested in submitting her photographs to a Hairstyle magazine. I guess my question is, since the magazine is royalty free, should I be charging her per image for the publication of my portraits?

Fender Stratocaster tone knob gets stuck at 10?

I JUST got a brand new American Fender Stratocaster (Standard) and when I turn the bottom tone knob all the way to 10, it gets stuck there and I have to apply more force than usual just to get to budge back in the other direction. Should I return the guitar and get a new one considering I payed $1100 for it? Or is there something I can do to fix this? All of the other knobs turn with ease, it's just the bottom one that gets stuck when it's at 10 - it even turns fine like all the others when it's at 1.
